For the anon who asked about being labeled things when she tells people she's a feminist--one thing that I've found useful in this situation is to calmly (and not condescendingly) say, "Actually, that's a common misconception about feminists" and explain that what they're trying to label you as doesn't apply to you, or that you don't identify that way. This helps get your point across without sounding overly defensive and keeping the person you're talking to from learning from you.
